- Transportation Data Analytics Office
The Florida Department of Transportation collects data for a national-level information system known as the Highway Performance Monitoring System. CIMES worked closely with the HPMS expert to identify the knowledge, processes, procedures, skills, and aptitudes technicians need to perform the data collection tasks. CIMES then developed web-based training that includes scenarios with multiple solutions and assessments that provide rich feedback to help model behavior, deepen understanding, and promote transfer of learning.

- Bureau of Preparedness
The Bureau of Preparedness at the Florida Department of Health is in charge of health-related emergency response across the state. The bureau needed to provide training on the basics of emergency management and response to personnel with a wide variety of knowledge and skills who would be called upon to perform tasks in an emergency that are outside the scope of their usual job functions.CIMES developed web-based training on the basics of emergency management and response. The training covers all four phases of the Disaster Management Cycle—Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation.

- California Tobacco Control Program
The California Department of Public Health, California Tobacco Control Program, leads statewide and local health programs, services, and activities that promote a tobacco-free environment. CIMES developed the Online Tobacco Information System to provide management of all content and processes, delivering a truly paperless management system for its users. The system manages incoming grant applications, review, negotiation, progress reporting, and fiscal reporting for over 20 grants encompasing over 300 individual projects at any given time. CIMES has been providing ongoing develop to OTIS since 2001.

The Anxiety and Behavioral Health Clinic located in the Psychology Department at Florida State University was funded by the military to develop web-based intervention programs in the areas of stress and social isolation.The objective of the web-based intervention was to help participants combat the feeling of social isolation by providing them with information on recognizing symptoms, dispelling common misconceptions, and suggesting coping mechanisms.A multi-dimensional approach was taking to provide a rich experience for the user that included videos of subject matter experts as well as video scenarios demonstrating content organized by seven myths of social isolation.

CIMES developed web-based training for novice epidemiologists and nurses in Florida’s counties. The training includes introductions to epidemiology, infectious diseases, surveillance, outbreak investigations, and collaboration for public health. The modulesconclude with application tasks that allow learners to assess their progress at the end of the course.

Voices for Florida
The Open Doors Outreach Network was launched by Voices for Florida in 2016 as part of a coordinated effort to address service gaps for victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Through a network of partner organizations, ODON provides a coordinated system of care that is supported by trauma-competent best practices and translational research. The Open Doors model uses teams that consist of a survivor-mentor, a regional advocate, and a clinician. CIMES developed training to support the development of knowledge and skills that ensure fidelity to ODON’s service model, leading to standardized quality care regardless of location.

The mission of the Division of Health Awareness and Tobacco was to reduce the use of tobacco products in Florida. The division had taken the lead in Tobacco Free Florida programs and partnerships, but needed to re-envision its systems to maximize resources, ensure accountability, and promote collaboration among its partners across Florida. CIMES created a centralized, web-based resource center, the Florida Tobacco Control Clearinghouse, and related resources to support the division’s information management and communication needs.

Voices for Florida
The Voices for Florida Open Doors Outreach Network seeks to improve care, coordination, and outcomes for commercially sexually exploited and trafficked children. The network uses an innovative approach that engages teams of survivor-mentors, regional advocates, and clinicians to provide 24/7 care to recovering victim. CIMES developed a performing a developmental evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the service model at the current pilot sites. The study will also identify which aspects of the model need to be maintained and sustained as it is being implemented at new sites and which aspects of the model can be modified to fit the local needs of partner organizations.
