NSF awards larger grant to FSU's Antarctic Reseach Facility

The National Science Foundation awarded $2.5 million grant to Florida State’s Antarctic Marine Research Facility. The facility is home to the world’s largest core sediment samples from the furthest depths of Antarctica’s ocean floor. Sherwood Wise Jr., the principal investigator at AMGRF, has been on several core-drilling trips. The sediments extracted from these trips show changes in the Earth’s climate and geological history.
