SPEAKER BIO
Phil Barnett has worked in the field of knowledge and intellectual asset management (IAM) for most of his career. He entered the field of licensing and IAM while working for the Dow Chemical Company, devising a number of new business processes that helped Dow businesses take ownership of and use IP for enhanced revenue and competitive advantage. There, he worked with a global team of scientists, engineers, attorneys and finance professionals to manage a large industrial IP portfolio and protect the innovations emerging from R&D. He consulted many years for clients of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and worked on a variety of large projects in the fields of strategy, IP valuation, disputes, IP data analytics, and knowledge management. Internally, helped PWC partners re-engineer their own KM/IAM approach driven by a new focus on global collaboration and sharing, and a series of acquisitions. Now with a strong foundation in IAM for both products offered and services offered businesses, Phil continues to assist clients with capability development and IP risk management. He also strongly supports LES as a volunteer instructor, project manager, mentor, and leader.
